No, seriously.

Our team consists out of 7 professionals hardened in pingfloods, poisoned data and nukes. And we love what we do.

Slik started out in 2002, when TU Delft students teamed up to build websites, webshops and other online software, while taking care of the infrastructure as well. We have grown into a sleek, agile organisation with small businesses as clients as well as universities, hospitals and governmental institutions.

Slik is a full service internet company. We build web software and manage online services. We run our own network and manage our local internet registry (LIR) as well as our domain names. That means Slik has pretty much all it takes to run stable online environments and manage version control software.

Outsourcing saves money, but requires trust

By letting us support your software repository, you are trusting us with a lot of responsibility. We know that - and we appreciate that. Rest assured that Slik Subversion is not cheap because we don't spend on our infrastructure or service. Our prices are low because we have automated as many tasks as possible so we have time left to help you out. When you call us, you get real people on the phone and when you e-mail us, you get a quick response from a real expert.

Slik is a Dutch firm. That means we're right on top of the largest internet node in Europe. Connections to all over the continent, as well as the US and UK, are fast. Truth be told, Slik is aiming for the European rather than the US market. By providing more reliable connectivity and better support, we believe Europeans will prefer our services over other offerings.

By giving away free accounts we offer a simple way for everyone to try our service with a real project. The free account will enable single programmers to work with Subversion and experience the benefits. When their projects grow, we hope that they will stick with us and get a paid account.

Q & A with Walter Hop (CTO)

QWho are you?
AMy name is Walter, and I'm the guy supervising the whole technical thing. I'm the slightly photoshopped guy second on the right in the photo.
QWhat's your experience?
AI have set up several hosting- and softwarecompanies in the past. I have built up one of the largest domain registrars in the Netherlands, and I built up Slik from 2002. Slik is currently focusing on managed services and software development, mainly for small businesses.
QHow hard is it to maintain Subversion?
AInstalling Subversion is, once you got used to it, not that hard. Making sure servers and network are always up and running is a much tougher job. Which is why we have our own network, our own IP range and why we installed every possible part of our setup redundantly.
QYou seem like funny guys. Are you taking your job seriously?
AWe like nerdy jokes, but regular people have trouble appreciating our sense of humour. That doesn't mean we're not completely dedicated to delivering a perfect job, and making sure our clients have zero downtime and a happy uptime.
QAre you one of those untouchable, hard to reach CTO's?
AI like to think I'm easy to reach. When I'm not at jetset parties or driving around town in my Range Rover, I'm continuously checking my e-mail to make sure everybody's okay. Try me.
